Canada Entrepreneur Immigration Program
The Canadian immigration Entrepreneur Program is planned to invite experienced entrepreneurs who intend to own and actively manage a business in Canada. This Canadian immigration program targets to grow the Canadian economy while also creating new jobs for Canadian citizens and Canadian permanent residents
There are a number of provinces which manage their own business immigration programs which require active participation in the management of a business based on an indicated investment and job creation. The programs vary in the requirements to qualify but generally refer to a minimum legally obtained net worth in the area of $350,000 with appropriate management experience. This can be demonstrated by having previously managed and owned a qualified business;
Some Canadian immigration entrepreneur programs require a good will deposit which is refundable once the business has been established. Under provincial nominee programs, applicants first apply to be nominated by a province offering this program, and on the basis of that nomination may obtain permanent residence following Federal health and criminality checks. Start-up Visa Program
Start Up Visa Program is a great option for foreign entrepreneurs who have the capability, skills and experience to setup new business in Canada. This program targets to permit innovative entrepreneurs to Canada and link them with the Canadian private sector businesses, (angel investor groups, venture capital funds or business incubators) and facilitate the formation of their start-up business in Canada. Quebec Entrepreneur Program
Under the Quebec Entrepreneur Program, applicant must be an experienced business person interested in actively owning and managing a business in Quebec province, which will make revenue and create employment for Quebec residents.
Under this program, applicants must:
Have at least 3 years of management experience in a business enterprise, government or other society;
Have a minimum legally obtained net worth of $300,000 CDN of legally acquired funds (including your spouse's assets);
Submit a feasible business plan to establish or purchase a business in Quebec, which the applicant intends to manage and operate and which will employ at least 3 Quebec residents;
Possess the intention and capacity to own and actively manage an eligible business within three years of becoming a permanent resident;
Create at least one-full time employment opportunity for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
BC PNP Entrepreneur Program
The BC Provincial Nominee Program’s Entrepreneur Immigration option is a pathway for experienced businesspeople who want to start a business in B.C. and become permanent residents. Under this stream, a pool of candidates has been established with individuals in the pool competing to get as many points as possible, out of a maximum of 200. Only 200 candidates are accepted into the pool each month, and the BC PNP will periodically invite the highest-scoring candidates to submit applications for the Entrepreneur Immigration program.
Eligibility Requirements
Personal legally obtained and verifiable net worth of at least $600,000 (including cash, saving bank accounts, fixed deposits, real properties, investments, etc) under the candidate’s name or candidate’s spouse’s name.
Minimum 2 years of post-secondary education or experience as an active business owner manager with 100 percent ownership of the business for at least 3 of the past 5 years
establish a new business or purchase and improve an existing business
make an eligible personal investment of at least $200,000 in the business
create at least one new full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident in the business
active and ongoing management of the day-to-day business operations
demonstrated residence in B.C and Admissibility to Canada.
